Kill-A-Watt Meter Shows Energy Use
Alger Delta Cooperative has several Kill-A-Watt meters available for member use. The Kill-A-Watt meter measures the energy consumed by a single electrical device. "This is a good tool to determine the cost of running an individual appliance" states Tom Harrell, Alger Delta's General Manager.
Using a Kill-A-Watt meter is simple. The device is plugged into a wall outlet and then a single appliance is plugged into the Kill-A-Watt meter. The member uses the appliance as they normally would and the Kill-A-Watt meter monitors the amount of electricity consumed and can calculate the cost of the energy.
Kill-A-Watt meters are loaned for 30 days, free of charge, to Alger Delta members. Members can pick one up at the Cooperatives' office in Gladstone, or ask to have one sent in the mail. There is a $5 delivery charge. Members can request a Kill-A-Watt meter by calling Alger Delta at 906-428-4141 or visiting or completing the mail-in form found on the printable link below.
