Dear Member:
Alger Delta is in the process of exchanging our conventional meters for AMR's. AMR stands for "Automated meter reading" and our specific meter is called a "turtle meter". These meters will send a signal to our substation that can be polled from the office and posted to your billing account.
It is the goal of the coop to have this project completed within a three year period and at this time we are in the process of setting the new meters in the Gourley and White Rapids. You will receive notice when your substation is completed and you no longer need to read your meter, however, you will need to continue sending in readings until you have received that notice.
Please be aware that when the meter is exchanged there is a little blinking light at the bottom left hand corner of the meter, this is normal and should be blinking at a steady pace of 4 second intervals. This blinking is what sends the signal to its home base.
Please feel free to contact the office at (800) 562-0950 or (906) 428-4141 if you have any questions or concerns.
